Big News #BBN!!!
“On Sept. 5 at 7 p.m., Kentucky football will play the grand opening game in The New CWS against UL Lafayette. Leading up to kickoff, UK Athletics will host a series of events to commemorate the big day, punctuated by a free pregame concert featuring Sundy Best.
The events will be headlined by a pregame concert featuring Sundy Best, a country duo formed by Kentucky natives Kris Bentley and Nick Jamerson. The concert will be held next to the Glenn Infiniti of Lexington Green Lot adjacent to Gate 1 of The New CWS.
Matthew Mitchell and the Go Big Blue Band, with the UK women’s basketball head coach serving as lead singer, will open. The concert is set to begin at approximately 3 p.m., with Sundy Best to take the stage at 4 p.m. and break for the Cat Walk at 4:45 p.m.
UK football will also hold its annual Fan Day on Saturday at 9 a.m. inside Nutter Field House. Kentucky student-athletes and coaches will sign autographs from 9-10:15 a.m. At the conclusion of the autograph session, fans are invited to attend an open practice at the Tim Coach Practice Fields at the Nutter Training Center that will last from approximately 10:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m.”

Mitch Barnhart has issued a renewed effort upon the part of the entire University of Kentucky athletic department to give all of #BBN a complete and unparalleled fan experience. He has released a full letter detailing this campaign along with an overview video.
Here are some takeaways from the letter.
“I am asking everyone involved with UK Athletics to make a renewed commitment to our fans. We will honor those deep ties by making sure you have great experiences when you invest time and money to support your Wildcats. We are going to put you, the Big Blue Nation, first.
Three core concepts will guide this effort:
1.We will compete for championships and make our fans proud.
2.We will provide a first-class game-day experience.
3.We will create a shared family atmosphere.
Guided by these concepts, I formed a Fan Experience Committee with staff members from event management, marketing, ticketing and communications as we began the new year. We are meeting regularly to assess all aspects of our fan experience, but we need your help.
What can we do better? What are we already doing well? What have you seen at other sporting events that we should implement?
No suggestion is too big and none too small. From concessions to promotions to music selection, we want to know what matters to you. We are going to use every outlet available to us to listen to your feedback.”
