The Latest Unbelievable Flop from Grayson Allen – VIDEO

Duke beat Southern 78-61 in a game where they had just 3 more field goals than Southern.

With 4 minutes to go, Duke had a whopping 37-7 ft advantage over Southern. You read that right, 37-7.

Included in another debacle of a game that leaned lopsided in favor of Silver Spooned U., Grayson Allen demonstrated another flop in his long line of flops. Here are some of his past flops, and here is his latest.

Disgusting

Alex Poythress vs. Duke 11/13/2012 – VIDEO Highlights

Alex Poythress Highlights vs. Duke

September 6 is the birthday of both John Wall and Alex Poythress.

We thought we’d go back to maybe the best game Alex put together as a Wildcat.

His recent signing with the Indiana Pacers is well deserved for a kid that worked hard, battled injuries and represented the Cats with class.

Happy Birthday Alex!

A History Lesson – 10 Teams You Should Know When Picking Your NCAA Bracket

he art of (3)

Let’s look at some historical numbers and how they apply to the big dance in March.

There have been 77 NCAA titles winners since 1939 (no matter what North Carolina tells you with their Helms Trophy banners hanging in the rafter, or Kansas for that matter)  and only 10 teams have 48 of those 77 National Titles.  Over half. 10 teams have 48 of the available 77 titles, leaving just 37 that weren’t won by this exclusive group. If you add Oklahoma A&M(2), San Francisco(2), Cincinnati(2), and NC State(2) that leaves 56 of the 76 teams.

If you add teams that have little to no chance of repeating the number is shrunk to 65 of the 77 titles. The teams we can remove are: CCNY, LaSalle, Holy Cross, Utah, Wyoming, Stanford, Loyola Illinois, Marquette, California, and UTEP

Now we have a remaining 9 teams that could repeat for the FIRST time.

Michigan, Georgetown, UNLV, Arizona, Oregon, Arkansas, Syracuse, Maryland, and Wisconsin.

Of these teams in 2016-2017, Only Arizona and Oregon seriously have a chance at winning it all.

For fun, Let’s look at National Titles by Conferences:

Pac-12 – 15

ACC – 14

SEC – 11

Big Ten – 10

Big East – 8

Independents – 6

Missouri Valley Conference – 4

Big 8 – 2

Metro – 2

West Coach Conference – 2

Big 12 – 1

Big West – 1

New York Conference – 1

Mountain States Conference – 1

American Conference – 1

Now let’s look at the breakdown of the exclusive 10 teams that have 48 of the 77 titles and where they are moving into March Madness.

imgBill-Walton5

UCLA has a total of 11 titles

1964, 65, 67-73, 1975, 95

UCLA is 29-4, a 3 seed in the south. UCLA failed to win either the regular season Pac 12 or the Pac 12 tourney losing to Arizona in the semi-final game.

UCLA: IN

Kentucky has 8 National Titles

UK is 29-5 winning both the regular season SEC tourney and the regular season. The Cats are the 2 seed in the south. The south is top heavy in terms of championships with the top 3 in the field sitting at 1, 2, and 3. UCLA, Kentucky and UNC.

Kentucky: IN

North Carolina has 5 National Titles in 1957, 82, 93, 05, and 2009.

North Carolina is 27-7 winning the regular season ACC and losing in the semi finals to Duke in the ACC tourney. They are the 1 seed in the south.

North Carolina: IN

tomcrean

Indiana has won 5 National Titles in 1940, 53, 76, 81, and 1987.

Indiana and Clappy Crean is out of the NCAA tournament following another terrible season.

Just so the Hoosiers don’t feel left out, we fixed the Sports Illustrateed 2017 March Madness cover for them.

Let’s all enjoy their “One Shining Moment” from just a few seasons ago when they were the #1 seed overall and failed to reach the elite 8. They have NEVER advanced past the Sweet 16 with Tom Crean.

Indiana: OUT

Duke has won 5 National Titles in 1991, 92(I still hate Laettner), 2001, 2010, 2015

Duke is 27-8. was the 5 seed in the ACC tourney and winning that tournament winning 4 games in a row. Duke is a 2 seed in the East.

Duke: IN

Uconn-men-win

UCONN has 4 National Titles in 1999, 2004, 2011 and 2014

UCONN failed to make the NCAA tournament after an abysmal season.

Connecticut: OUT

Self Bald

Kansas has won 3 National Titles.

1952, 88, 2008

Kansas finished the season 28-4 winning it’s 13th straight Big 12 regular season title. Kansas has had a ton of off the court problems this season. KU lost it’s first game of the Big 12 tourney to TCU with Josh Jackson on the bench due to a suspension. Kansas is the #1 seed in the Midwest.

Kansas: IN

rickyp

Louisville has 3 National Titles.

1980, 86, and *2013(pending)

Last year Louisville missed the NCAA because of prostitutes in their dorm room for under age recruits and their fathers. Let’s all remember their “One Shining Moment” from last season.

Louisville is is 24-8 and finished 4th in the ACC regular season. They lost their first game of the ACC tourney to Duke. They are the #2 seed in the Midwest with Kansas as their #1.

Louisville: IN

magic-johnson(05)

Michigan State has 2 National Titles.

1979 and 2000

Michigan State somehow made the tournament with a 19-14 record and finished 5th in the Big 10. It was the first season Coach Izzo tried the one and done system. He’s no John Calipari (although a good coach and nice dude).

When we were working on this prior to selection Sunday, we had Michigan State out with Villanova replacing them.  So, we are going to add one, just for this season.  Villnova Wildcats. Member this?

Michigan State: IN

Villanova is 31-3 and along with the Kentucky Wildcats are the only two teams of the major conferences to win both their regular season and conference tournament championships. Villanova is the #1 overall seed and will take it to the East in this years trip to the dance.

Villanova: IN

Michael White from Jesuit's Class of 1995 is the new head basketball coach at the University of Florida. He was the head coach at Louisiana Tech before replacing Billy Donovan in Gainesville.

Michael White from Jesuit’s Class of 1995 is the new head basketball coach at the University of Florida. He was the head coach at Louisiana Tech before replacing Billy Donovan in Gainesville.

Florida has won 2 National Titles with Billy Donovon. Their new coach is this Mike White. He has done a good job at Florida so far, but, might be removed from this list in a few years moving them into the “San Fransisco” level of teams with 2 titles.

2006, 2007

Florida is 24-8 and finished 2nd in the regular season SEC. They have lost their inside presence due to injury and could be hammered because of this loss. Florida is a 4 seed in the East.

Florida: IN

So, of the 10 teams with 48 of the 77 titles that are recently in the mix to get another one and 8 remain.

UCLA, UK, UNC, Duke, Kansas, Michigan State, Louisville and Villanova : IN

Teams with a real chance of getting #2.

Arizona and Oregon
