Interesting night tonight at Rupp that saw Columbia jump out to an 11-0 lead and retain a 2 point lead at half. Andrew and Aaron helped us get back into the game with their energy and effort. The team once again struggled from 3’s shooting an abysmal 2-14 from the 3 point arc. Aaron led the team with 14 points on a night that saw both Tyler Uils and Devin Booker sitting out with “minor injuries” as Coach Cal described in pre-game. Willie Cauley-Stein finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds. The slow down tempo implemented by Columbia took the Cats out of the game early and he Cats struggled to get their motor running. Trey Lyles put in the most inspired performance of the night pulling in 10 rebounds and putting up 7 points. Willis also contributed with energy putting in 2 go-ahead free throws, hitting a 3, and getting a key rebound. No word as this blog post on the further status of Ulis and Booker for the North Carolina game. The Cats will have to play better to get a win against the Tar Heels. Here are some highlights and post game interviews.
