Great Tribute to Edwin “Hotshot” Bryant

We received this image and story from Daniel Bryant who contacted us with the following.

“Tribute car for my grandfather who passed away in December. He was a born and raised Kentuckian, a huge UK fan, and a veteran. #BryantRacing”

“This is David Bryant’s car. He races at twin cities in North Vernon Indiana. He had his car completely redone for Father’s day weekend in memory of his dad who we lost unexpectedly in December. He was an amazing man who raced himself in the past. We even put his old sponsors on the car. He was born and raised in Kentucky and was always a huge UK fan. He was also an army vet. We saw this as a great way to honor his memory.”

You can find more at Bryant Racing on Facebook.

RIP Cawood March 1, 2006 – April 27, 2017

He was named after Cawood Ledford, the famed Kentucky Wildcat radio announcer of 39 years, but, whenever I would hear a reference to Mr. Ledford after a certain time, I felt like my Cawood was the namesake=) I’ll speak for Cawood today and use the words that Adolph Rupp and Cawood Ledford both used for their goodbyes, “To those of you that went down the glory road with me, my eternal thanks.” Cawood, I love you. March 1, 2006 – April 27, 2017.

AP All Time Top 100 – KENTUCKY #1 ALL TIME PROGRAM (not that we already didn’t know that)

KENTUCKY #1 ALL TIME PROGRAM

Tell us something we already didn’t know. If you haven’t seen “The List” check it out here, it has some jaw dropping historical numbers.

Some numbers from AP All-Time Top 100 are as follows:

75.37% of all polls
Jan. 18, 1949 (first-ever poll)
124
1950s, appeared in 89.63% of polls, but 1990s were close with 89.33%.
1960s, appeared in 59.59% of polls.
The Wildcats have missed appearing at least once in the poll for only three seasons during the 68-year history of the AP poll, the fewest poll-less seasons of any program. Those seasons were 1952-1953, 1988-1989, and 1989-1990.”
It’s interesting to note that his decade could end up being the best all time once completed.
The Top 10 lookes like this:
1 – Kentucky
2 – North Carolina
3 – Duke
4 – UCLA
5 – Kansas
6 – Indiana
7 – Louisville
8 – Arizona
9 – Syracuse
10 – Cincinnati
