John Calipari Addresses the BAM Injury And Other Topics – VIDEO

John Calipari recently addressed a crowd at the celebrity softball game in a “raw” Q & A.

In the “press conference” he talks about the charity work that takes place from the players and his foundation. Pretty powerful stuff from Coach.

He truly knows how to organize, or as he calls himself, a “gatherer”.

He talks about Bam Adebayo around the 6 minute mark. Dribble drive, Isaiah Briscoe, and his new book are covered in the Q & A.

The 19th Annual Calhoun-West Louisville Hike/Bike Trek – June 12, 2016

The 19th Annual Calhoun-West Louisville Hike/Bike Trek – June 12, 2016

Our friends from the annual trek contacted us again about this years event.

The 19th annual TREK is to help raise funds for the St. Joseph shelter which helps neglected, dependent and abused children, pregnant teens and sibling groups. The Yewell Boys Home is the only area treatment residence for boys ages 12 – 18. The home is located in Owensboro, Kentucky. There are now two residential facilities for children in need in the Owensboro area.

Annual Trek For St. Joseph’s Peace Mission For Children

The boy’s residence next door to the Mission was built in 2011. Staff, board members and friends of the Mission watched as construction progressed on our new building. Seeing the culmination of our long anticipated dream of a home for boys was very exciting.

David Yewell, along with his family and friends of the community, helps put together a fun TREK each year to celebrate life and to raise awareness for the very worthy St. Joseph’s Peace Mission cause.

The following is from the eBay page hosting the auction:

“You are bidding on a pair of custom air Jordan 1’s custom made for Willie Cauley Stein of the Sacramento Kings. These were customized by True Blue Customs of Lexington, Ky. These were custom painted in memory of Blake Hundley, whom Willie befriended during his time at UK. Blake suffered from brain cancer, and passed away last May from this terrible disease. The shoes feature cancer awareness ribbons, the Team Blake insignia, as well as the dog tags that Willie gifted to little Blake last season. Willie wore these shoes against the Timberwolves on 4/7/2016 and autographed both toe boxes. All proceeds of this auction will be donated to Kosairs Children’s Hospital, who cared for Blake during his illness. Please message me with any questions. Thanks!”

#BBN Let’s Help Out Bowling Green East Little League #LLWS

BG1

From their BGEast Little League GoFundMe.com Page:

“The Bowling Green, KY East Little League 11&12 year olds won the Great Lakes Championship defeating Wisconsin 13-0 on August 15 and are headed to Williamsport for the World Series!!  No team from Bowling Green has ever made it to the World Series.  It’s pretty amazing that they are 1 of only 16 teams in the world still competing.

The cost for the team and parents is expensive as many parents must miss work without vacation time.  Our goal of $20,000 is intended to defray the cost of travel and hotel for the 13 players, parents and siblings.  This team has worked extremely hard to get to the World Series and your support is greatly appreciated.”
