The 18th annual TREK is to help raise funds for the St. Joseph shelter which helps neglected, dependent and abused children, pregnant teens and sibling groups. The Yewell Boys Home is the only area treatment residence for boys ages 12 – 18. The home is located in Owensboro, Kentucky. There are now two residential facilities for children in need in the Owensboro area.

Annual Trek For St. Joseph’s Peace Mission For Children

The boy’s residence next door to the Mission was built in 2011. Staff, board members and friends of the Mission watched as construction progressed on our new building. Seeing the culmination of our long anticipated dream of a home for boys was very exciting.

David Yewell, along with his family and friends of the community, helps put together a fun TREK each year to celebrate life and to raise awareness for the very worthy St. Joseph’s Peace Mission cause.  The 18th annual Trek for the St. Joseph’s Peace Mission for Children will feature a special t-shirt this year. The 13.1 mile run/walk/bike will outfit its participants in t-shirts that pay tribute to Owensboro’s Taylor Widmer, a Trek supporter who was killed in a tragic 2014 car accident. Here is a short video clip featuring Chad Benefield of WBKR radio.
